The Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation invites applications from interested applicants interested in pursuing a degree program at any Japanese institution.

Application deadline: Monday, October 31, 2022 at 13:00 JST.

International countries are eligible.

Japanese Universities and Graduate Schools (country)

All courses offered by a Japanese university or graduate school in Japan are eligible.

Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD degrees are available.

Several scholarships are available.

Scholarship Worth:

  • Students: 100,000 yen per month
  • 140,000 yen per month for master’s students
  • 140,000 yen per month for doctoral students

A supplemental of 400,000 yen is provided upon arrival in Japan only for the first year of the scholarship.

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for this program:

  • Have already decided on the university or graduate school to which he or she will apply
  • Be in the process of applying for admission
  • Be able to submit his/her letter of acceptance (admission approval or pre-arrival admission approval) according to the deadlines listed below.

Important Notes: After arriving in Japan and attending an orientation, a supplemental of 400,000 yen is provided only for the first year of the scholarship. The Yoneyama scholars are expected to arrive in Japan before the month of their admission. Regardless of the reason, they will lose their eligibility if they do not arrive in Japan by the month in which their scholarship will begin to be paid.
