The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides a limited number of scholarships to highly qualified applicants who wish to pursue an EPOS program.
Developing countries are eligible.
The number of awards is not specified.
Award monetary value:
- Monthly payments of 850 euros for graduates and 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates, depending on academic level.
- Travel allowance is covered by payments for health, accident, and personal liability insurance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding.
DAAD Tropical Forestry scholarship holders may be eligible for the following additional benefits under certain conditions:
- Subsidized monthly rent
- Monthly allowance for accompanying family members

Eligibility for DAAD Tropical Forestry Scholarships at TU Dresden for Developing Countries 2023:
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent degree) in forestry or a related field such as agriculture, horticulture, land-use or regional planning, geography, water management/hydrology, biology, ecology, regional development, or natural resource governance. Furthermore, if English is not the native language or medium of instruction during the BSc, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the language (TOEFL 80 iTB (550 PBT, 213 CBT) or IELTS 6.0, certificate) (please attach an attestation to your application files). Every year, courses begin in October (winter term).
